Definition
The Children’s Division is seeking candidates for the position of Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) Supervisor. This position will provide direct supervision of the ICPC Unit in Central Office, which includes the statewide ICPC Coordinators and Administrative team members. The ICPC Unit is responsible for the interstate adoptive, guardianship, foster care, relative and residential placement of children under the authority of the Children’s Division in accordance with the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.
Examples of Work
Directs and participates in the delivery of social services in such areas as the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children, Interstate Compact on Adoption Medical Assistance, and related areas.
Interprets, applies and enforces state laws and regulations, Interstate Compact agreements and agency policies; establishes procedures regarding the interstate placement of children/youth.
Provides individual and group clinical supervision within an assigned unit in the provision of interstate and international adoptive, guardianship, foster care, relative and residential placement of children under the authority of the Children’s Division in accordance with the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.
Assists in training assigned staff on Division policies, procedures, standards, and goals; participates in management planning and program revision.
Reviews case records of assigned staff in order to ensure that work is performed and services are delivered in accordance with agency guidelines and policy.
Performs diagnostic and assessment services to assist staff in the development and implementation of placement and services in accordance with compact requirements.
Provides periodic reports on standards of practice, progress, and development of assigned staff.
Researches and responds to inquiries and provides information regarding laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the interstate placement of children/youth.
Compiles statistical reports and maintains interstate placement records and related documents.
Attends and participates in state, regional and national conferences. Assigns and directs the work of staff, participates in selection, makes recommendations for disciplinary actions and/or grievance resolutions, and conducts periodic evaluations of staff performance.
Assumes responsibility for the preparation and completion of required reports.
Receives in-service orientations in the areas of division policies, processes, and programs.
Assumes responsibility for the quality and quantity of services provided by assigned staff to families, children, and parents.
Exercises independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receives direction from a designated manager.
Receives, reviews and resolves complaints.
Performs other related work as assigned.
